Compensation

The salary for this role is $190,000 - $220,000. This is the range we anticipate relying on in good faith when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range is only applicable for roles performed in California. This salary range may be modified in the future.


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Power Generation to join our team. Remote candidates are welcome, with periodic travel expected for in‑person collaboration. This role oversees the execution of gas‑fired and hybrid infrastructure projects-including co‑located energy storage and digital infrastructure-spanning late‑stage development through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation. Responsibilities include ensuring safe, on‑schedule, and cost‑effective delivery of large‑scale capital projects in close coordination with cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep field execution experience in gas‑fired generation, strong stakeholder and contractor coordination skills, and the ability to manage complex interfaces across procurement, permitting, and engineering.


Responsibilities

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Manage overall project execution from late‑stage development through commercial operation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on permitting, commercial requirements, design deliverables, and technical needs.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, execution plans, and risk registers.
  • Lead project delivery meetings and maintain project performance reporting.

Procurement & Contracting

  • Lead procurement for engineering, construction, and equipment supply contracts (EPC, EPCM, etc.).
  • Align contract terms and risk allocation with project goals.
  • Manage RFP processes, bid evaluations, and negotiations.
  • Administer contracts including compliance, change management, and performance.

Construction Management

  • Oversee construction activities including mobilization, coordination, safety, and scheduling.
  • Resolve field issues with contractors and engineering resources.
  • Ensure QA/QC, inspections, and documentation meet required standards.

Commissioning & Startup

  • Lead commissioning planning, readiness, and testing.
  • Oversee system turnover and documentation.
  • Coordinate project transition to Operations and Asset Management.

Risk, Compliance & Safety

  • Promote a strong project safety culture.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and schedule risks.
  • Ensure compliance with permitting, interconnection, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary execution contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations.
  • Provide leadership updates, variance analysis, and decision‑support recommendations.
  • Act as a point of contact for lenders' engineers, regulatory agencies, and key partners.

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Have 10+ years of experience executing gas‑fired or hybrid utility‑scale energy infrastructure projects.
  • Have led projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Bring hands‑on experience in procurement, contracting, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Have managed EPC contractors and major OEMs.
  • Understand power plant systems and construction sequencing.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
