Senior Project Manager - Water Resources
Location: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid) Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000
We are a well-established civil engineering consulting firm based in the Denver metro area, focused on water resources, stormwater management, and floodplain engineering. Our team is known for tackling complex watershed and community infrastructure challenges with technical excellence and creative problem-solving. We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to guide multi-disciplinary teams on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain and stormwater studies, and design projects, while also growing client relationships across these practice areas. We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for natural resources, watersheds, and the communities these projects ultimately serve.
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership Oversee H&H modeling efforts, guide floodplain and stormwater investigations, ensure quality control on design work, and provide engineering support during construction phases.
Project Management Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets from start to finish. Handle client invoicing, coordinate team workload and staffing, run regular team meetings, contribute to project manager check-ins, and mentor junior staff along the way.
Client & Business Development Build and nurture client relationships. Support proposal writing for new project pursuits, assist with contract negotiations, and serve as a key point of contact for client communications.
Communication & Outreach Develop outreach materials, facilitate meetings, and translate technical findings into presentations that resonate with clients and stakeholders.
Team Collaboration Direct cross-functional teams that may include surveyors, landscape architects, planners, and ecologists to deliver polished, high-quality project outcomes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in water resources or a related environmental discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of full-time experience in water resource engineering, including at least 5 years in a project management role
- Comfort working in a hybrid arrangement that includes regular in-person time at our Denver-area office
- Strong track record collaborating within team environments, paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of tools such as EPA SWMM, CUHP, HEC-RAS, 2D modeling platforms, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI/GIS software, and the Microsoft Office suite
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential
- Prior experience with local Denver-area flood control districts or municipal agencies
