About the Opportunity
A leading building automation and smart buildings organization is seeking an experienced Building Automation Service Technician to support a growing portfolio of commercial and institutional clients across the Atlanta market.
This is an opportunity to join an established team working on advanced BAS/BMS projects, supporting some of the region's most sophisticated facilities. The role offers a mix of troubleshooting, service, optimization, and customer interaction, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
- Perform preventative maintenance, system health checks, and service inspections
- Analyze system performance and implement optimization recommendations
- Support commissioning, startup, and controller replacement projects
- Modify control sequences, alarms, schedules, and graphics as required
- Work with HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps, and plant systems
- Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers
- Document findings, service activities, and recommendations
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and building operators to ensure successful system performance
Requirements
- 5+ years of Building Automation, BMS, BAS, DDC, or HVAC Controls experience
- Strong troubleshooting and service background on commercial building systems
- Experience with one or more majorBAS platforms such as:
- Schneider Electric EcoStruxure
- Tridium Niagara
- Johnson Controls Metasys
- Siemens Desigo
- Automated Logic
- Delta Controls
- Distech Controls
- Understanding of HVAC sequences of operation and control theory
- Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans
- Experience working directly with customers and facility teams
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the Atlanta area
Preferred Qualifications
- Niagara Certification
- Experience with networked controls and IP-based systems
- Previous data center, healthcare, higher education, or mission-critical facility experience
- Technical degree or relevant industry certifications
