Controls Engineer
A Controls Field Engineer is required to support delivery and optimisation of building automation systems across a range of commercial projects in the New England region. This is a technically hands-on position suited to someone with solid DDC experience who enjoys a balance of remote working and on-site involvement.
This role sits within an established building automation integrator delivering high-quality BMS and controls solutions across commercial environments. The business is known for its technical standards, collaborative engineering culture, and long-term investment in its team, offering exposure to diverse and technically interesting projects.
- Commission, troubleshoot, and validate DDC-based building automation systems
- Carry out on-site works including system checkout, point-to-point verification, and functional testing
- Support system integration across HVAC controls platforms
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues both remotely and on-site
- Work with project and engineering teams to deliver systems in line with specifications
- Assist in system optimisation and performance improvements post-installation
- Interpret drawings, schematics, and control sequences
- Provide technical support to clients and internal stakeholders
- Document commissioning activities and maintain clear technical records
- Proven experience in building automation or HVAC controls engineering
- Strong working knowledge of DDC systems
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience
- Experience working in field-based commissioning or service roles
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working both independently and within project teams
- Experience with Distech Controls highly preferred
- Familiarity with Visio or AutoCAD for reviewing or modifying system drawings
- Exposure to a range of BMS platforms and open protocols
- Experience across commercial or institutional buildings

- Based in New England, with a focus on Massachusetts and the Boston area
- Hybrid or remote working options available depending on experience
