Senior Water Resources Engineer - North Carolina (Hybrid/Fully Remote)
We're recruiting for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join a growing team and help expand water resources services across North Carolina. This is a leadership role ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering innovative solutions for diverse clients.
The successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience in water resources or civil engineering, an active PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and proven experience managing projects and mentoring junior staff.
Preferred Technical Skills:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (2D modeling experience preferred)
- Familiarity with GIS tools and applications
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater regulations
- Experience with NCDOT standards and hydraulic-related pre-qualifications
Project Experience Should Include:
- Stream and wetland restoration
- Dam remediation and floodplain analyses (FEMA permitting, No-Rise, LOMR, CLOMR)
- Culvert and bridge replacement projects
- Stormwater planning and watershed studies
- Site/civil development and public utility design
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources across multiple assignments
- Collaborating with agencies and stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements
