About the Opportunity

A leading mechanical contractor in the Charleston area is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join its growing service team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems while providing exceptional service to customers throughout the region.

This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working independently, and building strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Service equipment including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, split systems, and associated controls.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately.
  • Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers and management.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Assist with equipment startups, commissioning, and system testing when required.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical components, controls, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • EPA Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial HVAC service and maintenance.
  • Chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Mechanical construction or retrofit projects.
  • Healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, education, or commercial facilities.
