About the Opportunity
A leading mechanical contractor in the Charleston area is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join its growing service team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems while providing exceptional service to customers throughout the region.
This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working independently, and building strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Service equipment including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, split systems, and associated controls.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately.
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers and management.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Assist with equipment startups, commissioning, and system testing when required.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical components, controls, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Commercial HVAC service and maintenance.
- Chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and building automation systems (BAS).
- Mechanical construction or retrofit projects.
- Healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, education, or commercial facilities.
