We are working with a well established heavy civil contractor based in Minnesota with operations across the Midwest. The company delivers earthwork, underground utilities, demolition, and specialty civil construction projects for public and private sector clients. They are known for strong safety performance, consistent execution, and a steady pipeline of work.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to support heavy civil construction pursuits from early budgeting through final bid submission. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction and requires strong earthwork estimating experience with a heavy emphasis on AGTEK software. Projects commonly range from $3M to $10M in value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects
  • Perform earthwork takeoffs using AGTEK as a primary estimating tool. Experience with HCSS or Bid2Win is a plus
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine full project scope
  • Develop accurate pricing for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during bid reviews
  • Participate in value engineering and risk assessment during preconstruction
  • Maintain organized estimating files and bid documentation
  • Support post bid handoff to project management and field teams

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil or site development construction
  • Strong earthwork estimating background is required
  • Proven hands on experience using AGTEK
  • Understanding of underground utilities, grading, and civil site development
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Clear communication and ability to work collaboratively with operations teams
  • Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits as needed
