Stormwater Practice Lead - Central Texas
A respected Texas-based civil engineering firm is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Stormwater Practice Lead to lead and grow its Central Texas operations. Responsibilities
- Lead stormwater planning and design projects, including flood control, MS4 permitting, water quality, and green infrastructure
- Manage multidiscipline project teams and guide successful execution from proposal through construction
- Serve as technical authority and primary client liaison for municipal and regional stormwater initiatives
- Develop long-term client relationships while pursuing strategic business development goals
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the firm's technical leadership vision
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources or stormwater engineering, including team leadership and project delivery
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas, or ability to obtain quickly
- Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-SWMM)
- Demonstrated success in public-sector client engagement and regulatory compliance
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with TxDOT requirements, flood planning groups, and municipal design standards
- Experience with GIS, BMP design, and low-impact development approaches
- Passion for sustainable infrastructure and resilience-focused design
