Responsibilities

  • Expand the organization's presence in the Atlanta-area stormwater market through targeted business development efforts, including strengthening key client relationships and engaging in selected professional society activities.
  • Work closely with stormwater leadership to develop and implement strategies that support continued growth and innovation in stormwater services across the organization.
  • Build and lead a stormwater project delivery team based in Atlanta, supporting both local and regional initiatives.
  • Manage stormwater planning and detailed design projects, including oversight of contract document production (plan sets, specifications), stormwater modeling and analysis, technical report development, and other tasks required to support planning, design, and construction of stormwater systems. Project types may include pipe drainage networks, open channels, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, multi‑benefit solutions, and green infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-engineers, designers, scientists, and other technical professionals-to support project objectives.
  • Travel within the region is expected, with occasional travel outside the state to support broader strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in stormwater and water resources projects.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in Georgia, or eligibility to obtain one within 6 months.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing teams delivering planning and design solutions for stormwater management challenges.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in client service and business development, including project positioning, proposal development, interviews, and technical presentations.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience leading preparation of federal, state, and local permit applications and compliance reports.
  • Experience producing design documentation, bid packages, and engineering cost estimates.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and mentor project staff.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing green infrastructure and nature‑based solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven team‑building and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with standard stormwater analysis tools, including: Hydra CAD, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), HEC‑HMS, SWMM (EPA, XP, PC), ArcGIS, Civil 3D (including SSA)
  • Proficiency in preparing technical reports, graphics, and guidance documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with FEMA floodplain regulations, including preparation of LOMRs and CLOMRs.
  • Experience with advanced stormwater analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Benefit‑Cost Analysis techniques used by agencies such as USACE and FEMA.

Compensation

Salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: education, experience, certifications, skillset, performance, geographic location, and organizational needs.
