Structural Engineer ( commercial)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and strong commercial sector experience. This role involves designing and analyzing structural systems for a range of commercial building projects, ensuring safety, code compliance, and overall performance throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct structural analysis and design for commercial buildings including office complexes, retail centers, and mixed-use developments
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications
Review and respond to shop drawings, RFIs, and field questions during construction
Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure project alignment
Perform site visits and inspections to verify structural integrity and construction practices
Ensure designs meet applicable building codes and standards
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff
Manage project timelines and deliverables across multiple assignments
Skills and Qualifications:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum of 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience
Strong portfolio of commercial building projects
Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000
In-depth knowledge of building codes including IBC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
