Grow with a Boutique Forensic Engineering Firm - Work Directly with Leadership

We're representing a boutique forensic engineering firm that's built a strong reputation for technical excellence, integrity, and personalized service. As they continue to grow, they're looking for a Licensed Structural Forensic Engineer based in Tennessee to join their close-knit team. This is a remote role with travel for site inspections, offering a unique opportunity to work directly with the firm's founder and play a key role in shaping its future.

Why This Role Stands Out:

This isn't just another engineering job. It's a chance to be part of something entrepreneurial. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own projects while collaborating closely with leadership on high-impact investigations. Your voice will be heard, your ideas valued, and your work will directly influence the firm's continued success.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conduct forensic investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
  • Assess storm damage, foundation issues, construction defects, and other structural concerns.
  • Travel to inspection sites across Tennessee and occasionally out of state.
  • Prepare detailed, signed, and sealed engineering reports.
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide expert testimony when needed.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements and help shape the firm's growth strategy.

What They're Looking For:

  • Licensed PE in Tennessee (or eligible for immediate licensure). NCEES record preferred.
  • Willingness to pursue licensure in Georgia and North Carolina post-hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in structural forensic engineering, especially with wood-framed construction and foundation systems.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Comfortable with physical site inspections, including climbing, crawling, and working in varied weather conditions.

Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable driving up to 7 hours per day for site visits.
  • Willing to work outdoors in both hot and cold environments.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and entering confined spaces.

What's Offered:

  • Competitive salary
  • Fully remote work environment - no physical office, full autonomy.
  • Flexible scheduling and regional independence.
  • Streamlined systems and templates to support efficient reporting.
  • Administrative and licensure support - including help with NCEES records and multi-state licensing.
  • Opportunity to grow with a firm designed to scale, with a clear path to leadership involvement.

If you're a licensed PE who's ready to step into a role where your work truly matters - and where you can grow alongside a respected leader in the field - this is your opportunity.
