About the Role
The firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a structural forensic engineering background to join their Los Angeles office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced engineer with 7 or more years of experience who is ready to lead complex building investigations, manage client relationships, and deliver high-quality forensic work product across a broad range of project types and claim scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural forensic investigations including building failures, construction defects, storm and fire damage, and other property loss events
- Oversee project delivery from initial assignment through final report, managing schedules, budgets, and client communications
- Conduct and direct site investigations, field documentation, and technical analysis
- Prepare and review detailed forensic reports for insurance, legal, and litigation support purposes
- Serve as primary client contact across active investigations and long-term relationships
- Coordinate with legal counsel, insurance adjusters, contractors, and co-experts throughout proceedings
- Support or provide expert witness testimony as needed
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth and practice development
- Support business development and help grow the forensic client base
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; advanced degree a plus
- 7 or more years of structural engineering experience with meaningful forensic or building investigation exposure
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred
- Proven project management experience including budget and schedule ownership
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, building codes, and construction methods across multiple material types
- Experience preparing technical reports for insurance or litigation support
- Expert witness experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
