Are you a Structural Engineer with experience in concrete restoration, repair, or forensic investigations looking for a role that combines field work, engineering analysis, and client interaction?
A well-established engineering and restoration consulting firm is seeking a Structural Engineer to support projects throughout New England. This position offers a mix of site investigations, condition assessments, repair design, and technical consulting, providing exposure to a diverse range of existing structures.
Responsibilities
- Perform site investigations and condition assessments of existing structures to identify maintenance, repair, and restoration needs.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and technical recommendations.
- Design and engineer structural repair solutions for a variety of structures.
- Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Research applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Provide technical support during project development and execution.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with technical mentoring and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
- Stay current with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Structural restoration
- Concrete repair
- Building envelope restoration
- Parking structure rehabilitation
- Forensic engineering
- Existing building assessments
- Bridge restoration
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and related engineering software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting projects throughout New England.
- Managing a flexible schedule that balances field investigations, office work, and client interactions.
- Spending approximately three days per week conducting site visits and inspections, with the remainder focused on engineering, reporting, and project coordination.
- Occasional overnight travel for project needs, industry events, and client meetings.
