Superintendent - New Jersey

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with approximately 5+ years of expertise in heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex foundation work, including drilled shafts, micropiles, H-piles, sheet piling, tiebacks, and related systems-particularly in challenging environments such as highways, bridges, marine, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate field crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Provide forepersons with the tools, materials, and information needed for success.
• Monitor subcontractor progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Interpret project specifications and ensure compliance.
• Track productivity and costs for assigned work tasks.
• Apply QA/QC processes to maintain the highest quality standards.
• Oversee all construction activities on assigned project sites.
• Respond proactively to changing site conditions and unforeseen challenges.
• Manage documentation, submittals, material tracking, and reporting.
• Produce weekly safety reports and maintain compliance with safety standards.
• Plan manpower needs and contribute to construction designs, including major pick plans.
• Analyze survey data, maps, and drawings to plan projects effectively.
• Manage budgets and job cost reports for foundation-related work.
• Inspect sites to ensure progress and adherence to specifications.
• Assist in tracking and submitting claims for foundation items.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction with extensive foundation expertise.
• Ability to manage fast-paced schedules and shifting priorities.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, OSHA requirements, and QA/QC standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license.
• Projects are local

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• OSHA 10-Hour Certification (preferred).
• Marine construction experience (a plus).
