We are seeking an experienced Senior Tailings Engineer to join a leading geotechnical consultancy with a strong reputation in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for mining and infrastructure projects across Australia.
As a Senior Tailings Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and management of tailings storage facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and review of tailings storage facilities and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct geotechnical assessments, stability analyses, and risk evaluations.
- Develop and implement monitoring programs for tailings facilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
About You
- Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in tailings engineering and geotechnical design.
- Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks and international best practices.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
