Tampa | Bridge Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Project Manager to support and lead bridge design efforts within FDOT District 7 (Tampa Bay region). This role is ideal for a licensed PE with strong FDOT experience who can manage complex structures projects, maintain client relationships, and lead high-performing design teams.


Responsibilities

  • Manage bridge and structural projects within FDOT D7 from proposal through final delivery
  • Serve as primary client liaison with FDOT District 7, local municipalities, and agencies
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful execution
  • Lead and mentor bridge engineers, EITs, and CAD staff
  • Review and approve design calculations, plans, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with FDOT Structures Manual, Plans Preparation Manual (PPM), and CADD standards
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines including roadway, drainage, geotechnical, and traffic
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement within D7
  • Participate in project pursuits, presentations, and relationship-building across the Tampa Bay market

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Florida PE license required (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 8-15+ years of bridge/structural design experience
  • Strong experience with FDOT District 7 projects
  • Proven project management experience (budgeting, scheduling, team leadership)
  • Proficiency with FDOT design standards and software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenBridge, LEAP, etc.)
  • Experience managing subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with FDOT D7 staff or local agencies (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, etc.)
  • Prior experience serving as Engineer of Record (EOR)
  • Track record of winning or supporting pursuits within the Tampa market
