Job Title: Technical Asset Manager - DG Solar

Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based candidates preferred)
Employment Type: Full-Time


Position Overview:

We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive Technical Asset Manager to oversee the performance and operations of our Distributed Generation (DG) solar portfolio. This fully remote role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-driven environment and is passionate about optimizing solar asset performance across a diverse set of commercial and industrial installations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar PV systems, performance analytics, and operations coordination, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Monitoring & Analysis:

    • Monitor real-time and historical performance of DG solar assets using SCADA and monitoring platforms.
    • Identify and troubleshoot underperformance issues; lead root cause analysis and resolution.
    • Track and report on KPIs such as performance ratio (PR), availability, and energy yield.
  • Operations Oversight:

    • Coordinate with O&M providers to ensure timely maintenance and corrective actions.
    • Review service reports, manage ticketing systems, and ensure issue resolution.
    • Maintain compliance with warranties, service agreements, and safety protocols.
  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate asset documentation including site drawings, equipment specs, and commissioning reports.
  • Project Onboarding & Commissioning Support:

    • Support the transition of new DG assets into the portfolio, including technical review and punch list resolution.
    • Collaborate with construction and development teams to ensure smooth handover to operations.
  • Regulatory & Compliance:

    • Ensure assets meet all regulatory requirements, including interconnection agreements and environmental standards.
    • Support audits and inspections as needed.
  • Systems & Data Management:

    • Manage monitoring platforms and analytics tools to improve data accuracy and reporting.
    • Work with software vendors and internal teams to enhance system functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in solar asset management, O&M, or technical operations, preferably in DG-scale solar.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, monitoring platforms, and grid interconnection.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, etc.) and monitoring software (AlsoEnergy, Locus, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • NABCEP or other relevant certifications a plus.
