Technical Lead - Water Resources
A nationally recognized civil engineering firm is seeking a seasoned Technical Lead to guide its water resources practice in Houston. This is a pivotal role for a senior engineer with deep technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for mentoring and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on complex water resources projects, including stormwater management, flood mitigation, watershed planning, and H&H modeling
Oversee QA/QC and modeling efforts using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XP-SWMM, ICM, and Civil 3D
Serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level staff, fostering a culture of quality and continuous learning
Collaborate with project managers and business development teams to shape proposals, scopes, and technical strategies
Ensure deliverables meet regulatory standards and client expectations across public and private sector projects
Represent the firm in technical forums, peer reviews, and industry events
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas required
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering
Proven expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater design, and regulatory compliance
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with clients and internal teams
Experience mentoring staff and contributing to technical standards and best practices
