The Opportunity
A nationally recognized architecture and planning firm is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join its growing San Diego (La Jolla) studio. This office specializes in complex, technically driven projects across science & technology, healthcare, and higher education sectors.
With an expanding project pipeline and a close-knit team, this is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping both project delivery and the continued growth of the local studio. The team is seeking someone who thrives in highly coordinated environments and enjoys taking ownership of project execution and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical development, coordination, and documentation across all project phases
- Oversee project quality, detailing, and Revit-based production
- Manage day-to-day coordination with consultants, engineers, and internal teams
- Support construction administration and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard
- Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide oversight of project workflow, processes, and team coordination
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years as a Project Architect
- Licensed Architect strongly preferred (open to experienced unlicensed candidates)
- Experience in science & technology, healthcare, or higher education projects highly preferred
- Background in complex project types (lab facilities, mixed-use, commercial, structured parking, or similarly technical projects) will also be considered
- Strong construction administration experience
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and technical detailing
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project complexity
