Traffic Engineer

Our client, a respected engineering firm, is seeking a Traffic Engineer to support traffic studies, signal design, and transportation planning projects across North Carolina. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional with 2+ years of experience who is ready to contribute to impactful infrastructure solutions and grow within a collaborative team.

The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Performing traffic impact studies, signal warrant analyses, and corridor evaluations
  • Designing traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings
  • Conducting capacity analysis using Synchro, HCS, and other modeling tools
  • Preparing technical reports, plans, and specifications
  • Coordinating with NCDOT, municipalities, and private clients
  • Supporting project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the firm
  • Assisting with proposal development and client presentations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of traffic engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of traffic analysis methods and design standards
  • Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, and AutoCAD/MicroStation
  • Familiarity with NCDOT standards and procedures
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
