Senior Traffic Engineer / Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer / Project Manager to join our team in California. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex transportation projects, manage talented technical staff, and build strong relationships with public agencies and clients.


Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
  • Licensing: California Professional Civil Engineer and Traffic Engineer registration (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Experience:
    • 5-10 years of relevant industry experience or 10-15 years of equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years in a management role supervising technical staff.

  • Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Strong project management expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client and agency engagement.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of construction documents and contracts.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Develop contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
  • Lead design and support teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and public agencies.
  • Knowledge of California jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Prepare and review traffic studies, signing/striping plans, traffic signal plans, and traffic control plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • California MUTCD
    • Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications
    • Caltrans Highway Design Manual
  • Ability to deliver presentations at public meetings (City Council, Planning Commission, etc.).
  • Experience providing in-house contract traffic engineering services for public agencies.
