A well-established and highly respected electric utility organization is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to join its Large Construction Project Management team. This organization plays a critical role in delivering reliable energy infrastructure, overseeing high-profile capital projects that support transmission and distribution systems across a growing service territory.
In this role, you will lead medium to large-scale transmission and construction projects from planning through execution, with full responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, and overall delivery performance. This position blends technical project leadership, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for a project manager who thrives in complex, fast-paced utility environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale transmission and construction projects through all phases, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, government agencies, and external stakeholders to drive successful project execution.
- Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and cost control.
- Support and enhance the organization's Construction Management Process (CMP), integrating safety, environmental, and reliability initiatives.
- Lead project meetings, performance tracking, and reporting of key metrics to senior leadership.
- Ensure efficient allocation of labor and materials to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Apply advanced project management techniques to evaluate performance, resolve challenges, and implement corrective actions when needed.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 3-7+ years of experience in project management within utility, construction, or infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale capital projects, including cost estimating, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and performance tracking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
- Preferred: PMP or Six Sigma certification.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company requirements.
