Transportation Engineer
As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing transportation infrastructure projects including roads, highways, bridges, and traffic systems. You will work closely with public agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions. Your work will directly influence how residents, businesses, and visitors move through the region-whether by car, bike, foot, or public transit. Projects may include roadway expansions, intersection redesigns, traffic signal optimization, and multimodal corridor improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze roadway and transportation systems using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Conduct traffic studies, safety analyses, and feasibility assessments.
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support project management tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
- Perform site visits and inspections during construction phases.
- Collaborate with environmental, structural, and geotechnical engineers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation or civil engineering.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
