Role Overview

A well‑established construction and engineering organisation is seeking a VDC Project Coordinator for its Nashville office. Reporting to the BIM Department Manager, this role supports project teams by implementing VDC initiatives, coordinating model‑based workflows, and contributing to detailing efforts for mechanical and plumbing systems. The position requires a balance of technical execution, coordination leadership, and hands‑on modelling.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy VDC initiatives and support the use of VDC technology platforms across assigned projects.
  • Develop BIM/VDC execution strategies and provide project‑specific guidance.
  • Oversee VDC scope, plans, and standards to ensure consistent, predictable delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project sign‑off documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to the Project VDC Execution Plan and all contractual BIM requirements.
  • Provide input on BIM‑related contract language.
  • Review trade partner BIM qualifications and advise project teams.
  • Perform detailing work for mechanical and plumbing systems under the direction of lead detailers.
  • Utilize software including Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks Manage, and Bluebeam.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-7+ years of VDC/BIM experience within the AEC industry, ideally on large capital projects.
  • Ability to work in a transparent, collaborative, flat organizational structure.
  • Strong analytical skills to research and apply BIM/VDC methodologies.
  • Strong graphical, documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong presentation skills and confidence speaking to groups.
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of contractor‑facing authoring and collaboration platforms.
  • Expertise in Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination.
  • Knowledge of field measurement and modelling technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software tools.
