Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President to lead and expand our Land Development division. This executive role is ideal for a senior leader with a proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and technical excellence within the land development sector. The Vice President will drive strategic growth, oversee high-impact projects, and foster a culture of innovation and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Growth

    • Develop and execute strategies to expand the firm's land development portfolio, identifying new business opportunities and cultivating long-term client relationships.
    • Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and client presentations to secure new projects and partnerships.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and market presence.
  • Strategic Leadership

    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, integrated land development projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to set division objectives, budgets, and performance metrics.
    • Guide the development of project strategies and operational plans to optimize delivery, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Technical Oversight

    • Provide high-level technical guidance on site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure design for land development projects.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Oversee quality control procedures, risk management, and project governance.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship

    • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
    • Lead professional development initiatives and succession planning for future leaders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work closely with internal teams, including land use and regulatory specialists, to deliver integrated solutions.
    • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and strategic partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Land Development, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in land development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or business development role.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing large-scale land development projects and client accounts.
  • Expertise in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Full Time / Exempt
Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000 (commensurate with experience and performance)
