About the Opportunity
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Mid-Level Wastewater Engineer to support and lead projects focused on conveyance infrastructure systems, including gravity sewers, force mains, pump stations, and rehabilitation programs. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful municipal projects that improve community resilience and water infrastructure reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analysis of wastewater conveyance systems, including pipelines, lift stations, and associated infrastructure
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and system assessments
- Support or lead condition assessments and rehabilitation planning (CIPP, open-cut replacement, etc.)
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews and site visits
- Assist with project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field)
- 4+ years of experience in wastewater/utility infrastructure design, with emphasis on conveyance systems
- Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWater, SewerCAD, or similar)
- Strong understanding of municipal standards and permitting processes
- EIT required; PE license (or in progress) strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with California municipalities or similar regulatory environments
- Background in trenchless technologies and rehabilitation methods
- Familiarity with capital improvement programs and asset management planning
- Exposure to stormwater or integrated water systems is a plus
