About the Role

Are you a bold, motivated sales professional ready to make your mark in the energy and sustainability space? This role places you on the front lines of helping organizations optimize energy use, reduce costs, and achieve sustainability goals through powerful software solutions.

This is not a transactional sales role. You'll partner with organizations across public and private sectors to uncover complex challenges and guide them toward data-driven solutions that transform how energy is managed.

What You'll Do

In your first year, you will make a measurable impact by:

  • Owning the full new-logo sales cycle-from self-sourced outbound prospecting through close-driving consistent pipeline growth and exceeding quarterly and annual goals.
  • Building trust with VP- and C-level decision-makers across public and private sectors by asking insightful, challenging questions and presenting outcomes, ROI, and strategic value rather than feature-driven pitches.
  • Managing complex, multi-stakeholder deals, navigating 6-12 month sales cycles, aligning buying committees, and coordinating internal teams (sales engineering, BDRs, customer success, and leadership).
  • Becoming an expert in the company's software platform, clearly articulating both technical and strategic value through demos, pilots, and ROI analyses.
  • Maintaining rigorous sales discipline with clean pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and structured quarterly planning while collaborating closely with BDRs on inbound and outbound efforts.
  • Leveraging AI and modern sales technology to enhance prospecting, research, and communication, demonstrating these tools as part of your sales process.
  • Representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and webinars as a thought leader in energy and sustainability management.

What You'll Bring

This role is ideal for a sales professional who combines ambition with authenticity-a hunter who sells with integrity and leads with curiosity.

  • 5+ years of SaaS sales experience, with a proven track record of closing net-new, six-figure+ deals as the lead seller in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Formal sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDPICC, Sandler, Force Management, Challenger) or a demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt structured methodologies.
  • Experience selling into both public and private sectors, with a preference for exposure to municipalities, higher education, healthcare, or commercial real estate.
  • Strong outbound prospecting capability, including cold outreach, networking, referrals, and targeted account strategies.
  • Executive presence with the ability to engage VP- and C-suite stakeholders in strategic, outcome-oriented conversations.
  • A quota-driven mindset with the ability to articulate pipeline strategy, maintain deal hygiene, and adjust course mid-quarter.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and modern sales tools, with active use of AI to improve efficiency.
  • Strong business acumen and a consultative approach focused on problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; familiarity with energy, sustainability, or utility management is a plus.

Compensation

$200,000 - $240,000 OTE, 50/50 base and variable split.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
