Bridge Department Manager

Position Overview:
A nationally recognized engineering and design firm is seeking a Bridge Department Lead to oversee and grow its Bridges & Structures practice across Ohio. This fully remote leadership role offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction, manage multidisciplinary teams, and deliver innovative bridge solutions for public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the bridge engineering department, including staff development, project oversight, and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with regional and national leadership to align departmental goals with company strategy.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of bridge projects from concept through construction.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Ensure quality control, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project budgets and schedules.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture across remote and in-office staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio or ability to obtain.
  • 10+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience managing DOT and municipal bridge projects.
  • Strong business development and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
