Our client is a fast-growing sustainability and ESG solutions provider offering a blend of digital platforms and advisory services that support organisations in ESG reporting, supply chain assessments, CBAM readiness, compliance, and sustainability strategy. Their capabilities span ESG reporting, stakeholder engagement, GHG and product carbon footprint reporting, and sustainability technology solutions.
With growing demand across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, the company is now expanding its commercial footprint and seeking pioneer Business Development Executives in Singapore, the Netherlands, and Dubai. These are first-on-the-ground hires who will open new markets and drive client acquisition.
The Role
The Business Development Executive will be a hands-on commercial operator responsible for identifying leads, building client relationships, and generating new business across manufacturing, industrial, and corporate sectors.
This is not a telesales role - it requires someone confident in meeting clients, understanding their sustainability/ESG challenges, and positioning digital and advisory solutions to address their compliance, reporting, and decarbonisation needs.
The role is highly autonomous, field-oriented, and ideal for candidates eager to build a market from scratch. You will work closely with the technical and ESG teams based in India and have full freedom to identify opportunities across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate leads, secure appointments, and build a strong pipeline across multiple sectors.
- Conduct market research and outreach to position sustainability and ESG solutions.
- Meet clients regularly, understand their ESG needs (BRSR, GRI, CBAM, SEEBAM, PCF, supply chain assessments), and coordinate with the technical team to deliver proposals.
- Drive the full sales cycle: outreach → pitching → solution alignment → negotiation → closing.
- Act as the pioneer representative in Singapore, Netherlands, or Dubai, building brand presence from the ground up.
- Travel across Southeast Asia (Singapore role) and/or regionally depending on location.
- Collaborate remotely with the India HQ on reporting, pipeline management, and strategy.
- Represent the company in industry events, sustainability forums, and corporate meetings.
- 3-5 years of experience in business development, ideally in sustainability, environmental services, consulting, or B2B solutions.
- Strong interest in ESG, sustainability, decarbonisation, or corporate compliance frameworks.
- Ability to grasp ESG concepts such as GHG reporting, CBAM, materiality, supply chain sustainability, etc. (training provided).
- Excellent lead generation, client engagement, and closing skills.
- Hands-on "boots on the ground" mindset - comfortable meeting clients, pitching solutions, and driving revenue.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to travel frequently across Southeast Asia (for Singapore role) and to India 2-3 times a year for onboarding/training.
- Singaporean/PR preferred for the Singapore role due to regulatory and market familiarity.
- Not a managerial role - no team leadership; purely commercial.
