Overview:
My client, a respected multi-discipline engineering and technical services firm, is seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to lead their mechanical engineering team in Owings Mills, MD. This is a senior-level leadership opportunity for a highly experienced engineer to drive innovation, mentor a talented team, and oversee the successful delivery of complex mechanical design projects across industrial, manufacturing, and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the mechanical engineering department.
- Oversee the design and development of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems for a wide range of facility types.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Lead project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, structural, and process engineers.
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master's preferred).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 15+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong background in HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems design for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design software (e.g., Pipe-Flo, Trane Trace).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- U.S. work authorization required.
