Civil Engineer or CAD Designer (3 to 5 Years Experience)
Overview
A multidisciplinary engineering firm is hiring early career Civil Engineers, EITs, or Civil CAD Designers with strong Civil 3D production skills. These roles support a wide range of public sector infrastructure and site development projects. Work includes collaboration with senior staff and offers a clear growth path toward Project Engineer and Project Manager responsibilities.
Project Types
You will contribute to design and production work for projects such as:
- Park and trail improvements
- Roadway and utility upgrades
- Coastal and shoreline resilience
- Water and wastewater infrastructure
- Pipeline design
- Stormwater management and LID features
- ADA upgrades and site development
Responsibilities
- Produce plans, profiles, and details in Civil 3D
- Support design tasks for grading, utilities, drainage, and roadway improvements
- Assist with hydraulic and hydrologic analyses
- Prepare design documents through schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Coordinate with internal engineers, senior staff, and external partners
- Contribute to reports, exhibits, and permit submittals
- Manage workload, deadlines, and quality control for assigned tasks
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- EIT preferred but not required
- Strong proficiency in Civil 3D
- Experience with tools such as StormCAD is a plus
- Solid communication and documentation skills
- Detail oriented, reliable, and able to work in a collaborative environment
- Interest in long term growth into Project Manager track
