Civil Engineer
We're working with an innovative, award-winning client who is expanding their water infrastructure team by hiring experienced Civil Engineers to lead stormwater, wastewater, and potable water modelling and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of water infrastructure modelling and construction projects, managing scope, budget, schedule, and technical outcomes.
- Execute fixed-cost and capital planning engagements, including modelling, procurement, periodic forecasting, and milestone invoicing.
- Oversee contract administration, WHS compliance, environmental standards, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with internal teams (GIS, hydraulics, drafting), external consultants, councils, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Prepare project schedules, quality and testing plans, implementation strategies, and commissioning documentation.
- Provide technical input and ensure seamless project delivery-balancing field calibration, hydraulic modelling, and stakeholder engagement.
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of project management experience in stormwater, wastewater, catchment planning, or water supply infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience delivering external client-facing projects for councils, DHBs, or government entities.
- Proficient with modelling tools (e.g., EPANET, InfoWorks WS Pro, WaterGEMS) and with managing EW-design and fixed-cost contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Hydraulic Engineering-ideally with Professional Engineer (CPEng) accreditation or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; collaborative mindset with multi-disciplinary delivery tea
- Experience in New Zealand local government or central agency environments and familiarity with NZ water regulations and contracting.
