Job Description

A well-established, privately held architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Construction Administrator to support its Architecture team. This role will be responsible for managing construction-phase services on a variety of architectural projects, overseeing inspection efforts, and supporting project teams to ensure successful delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate construction administration and inspection activities across multiple projects
  • Review and process contractor pay applications, submittals, field reports, and other construction documentation
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and verify general conformance with contract documents
  • Document field conditions and assist in resolving construction-related issues
  • Confirm that work aligns with approved documents prior to payment certification
  • Evaluate materials, methods, and workmanship to ensure quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including engineers, consultants, contractors, and code officials
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Support resolution of field issues through coordination with project teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction administration experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of building systems (architectural, civil, structural, and MEP) and applicable codes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with project management platforms and document review tools (e.g., Bluebeam or similar)
  • Familiarity with scheduling, tracking, and basic cost estimating
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment & Travel

  • Primarily office-based with regular field/site involvement
  • Approximately 20% field work and 80% office work
