Construction Project Engineer
Project Engineer - Responsibilities:
The role of the Project Engineer may vary depending on the specific project assignment. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently managing their assigned projects from buyout through closeout. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with monthly billing processes, cash flow forecasting, and change order management.
- Review mock-ups, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Monitor and maintain records of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinate with QA/QC teams.
- Ensure all completed work adheres to applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Identify critical path activities, procure long-lead items, and manage material orders and delivery schedules.
- Contribute to the development of work plans.
- Support document control, project safety, and environmental compliance efforts.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and promote health, safety, and welfare on-site.
- Perform material quantity takeoffs based on contract documents.
- Assist in supervising field operations.
- Help prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Support schedule development and updates.
- Provide field support and oversee subcontractor activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in construction project engineering.
- Experience working on construction projects valued over $100 million.
- Proficiency in preparing cost reports.
- Understanding of legal, contractual, and claims processes.
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with industry software such as Procore and Primavera P6.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
