Salary: $130-180k

They are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Director of Engineering to oversee project delivery, mentor engineering staff, and drive operational excellence across their portfolio. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep experience in site civil design, permitting, and client engagement, and is passionate about building high-performing teams and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, including project managers, engineers, and designers.
  • Oversee the execution of residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects from concept through construction.
  • Ensure technical quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery across all projects.
  • Develop and implement operational standards, QA/QC protocols, and training programs.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for grading, drainage, utility design, and entitlement processes.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, business development, and resource allocation.
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and project scoping.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in land development engineering
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of Colorado land development codes, permitting, and entitlement processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
