About the Role
We are representing an established and rapidly growing Global Data Center owner-operator who is seeking an experienced Electrical Lead to support the development, delivery, and ongoing evolution of mission-critical facilities across Australia and the wider APAC region.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the design, engineering, and technical governance of hyperscale and enterprise data center projects.
Working closely with development, technology, operations, and project delivery teams, you will act as the electrical engineering subject matter expert, providing technical leadership from concept design through to commissioning and operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering reviews and provide technical guidance across new developments, upgrades, and operational projects.
Oversee electrical design inputs across multidisciplinary data center projects, ensuring quality, resilience, and operational excellence.
Support design development for HV, MV, and LV electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, backup power systems, and critical facility environments.
Provide technical support during due diligence activities, site selection assessments, and acquisition reviews.
Drive improvements in engineering standards, design methodologies, and technical governance across the business.
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and customers to deliver robust and future-ready infrastructure solutions.
Support sustainability initiatives through energy-efficient and low-carbon design strategies.
Contribute to commissioning, testing, quality assurance, and operational readiness activities.
Key Requirements
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience within Data Centers or other mission-critical infrastructure environments.
Strong design and project delivery experience across critical electrical systems.
Extensive knowledge of HV, MV, and LV electrical design principles.
Experience specifying and evaluating critical equipment including generators, transformers, UPS systems, switchboards, and associated distribution infrastructure.
Understanding of commissioning processes, testing requirements, and quality control procedures for electrical systems.
Familiarity with protection studies, load assessments, load flow analysis, and redundancy strategies within mission-critical facilities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
