Environmental Practice Leader - Jacksonville, FL
We are seeking a senior environmental professional with 15+ years of experience, including at least 10 years working in the Jacksonville market. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for someone with a consulting background who can contribute immediately and help shape the environmental practice in a new office. The role offers autonomy with support from Florida leadership and is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset that is looking to grow something of their own and play a key role in the development of the Jacksonville area.
Relocation is not offered - this individuyal must be local to Jacksonville.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts, including identifying and pursuing new clients and expanding work with existing clients.
- Attend BD meetings and leverage skills to bring in new business (no existing book of business required).
- Manage and mentor junior and senior staff, including project managers.
- Interview and hire staff for environmental projects.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and scope.
- Prepare progress reports, change orders, invoices, and assist with collections.
- Conduct complex analyses for environmental and engineering projects.
- Supervise field activities and ensure accurate data collection and lab analysis.
- Write and edit reports, proposals, and other technical documents.
- Coordinate with other teams across disciplines and office locations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related science; Master's preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in environmental investigations and remediation.
- Strong expereince in due diligence, remediation, site investigation, permitting, environmental sampling, and more
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Deep understanding of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
- Strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills.
- Proficiency in technical analyses and related software.
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings.
