Position: Healthcare Project Architect
A collaborative architecture team is seeking a licensed Healthcare Project Architect. This role involves managing design implementation, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with healthcare codes and standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for creating healing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coordination efforts among consultants and technical teams to ensure effective execution of healthcare design and delivery of construction documents.
- Collaborate with project leadership to develop and manage production schedules, ensuring deadlines are clearly defined and met.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate implementation documents to ensure alignment with quality standards, healthcare regulations, and design intent.
- Manage technical resolution and coordination for defined portions of healthcare projects, including code analysis and zoning compliance.
- Facilitate internal and external design team interactions, including leading consultant work sessions.
- Maintain open communication with clients and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, agencies, consultants, and contractors to integrate engineering systems, respond to RFIs, and manage scope changes.
- Prepare and present design concepts and documentation to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct product research and support designers in evaluating materials and systems appropriate for healthcare environments.
- Oversee appropriate application of materials and construction methods based on current market offerings and best practices.
- Monitor risk factors and escalate issues to project leadership when necessary.
- Lead team meetings focused on technical coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Attend site visits, field reviews, and project meetings; document findings and decisions.
- Prepare and review meeting minutes for consultant coordination sessions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Professional degree in Architecture required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience preferred, with a focus on healthcare projects.
Licenses & Certifications
- Architectural registration required.
- Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks required.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Dynamo, Rhino, and Grasshopper preferred.
- Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign preferred.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of healthcare design guidelines, sustainability principles, and integrated design strategies.
- Advanced understanding of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines, QA/QC processes, and building codes.
- Intermediate ability to build and maintain client relationships and present design concepts.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple concurrent healthcare projects.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective problem-solving and collaborative leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
