Instrumentation and Control Engineer
An opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead instrumentation and automation design within the water and wastewater infrastructure sector. This role involves developing efficient control systems, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and managing project delivery from concept through construction support.
Key Responsibilities
Define scopes for control systems, networks, and I&C components
Lead SCADA and PLC design for mid-to-large scale installations
Develop process documentation including P&IDs, control panel layouts, and strategies
Specify instrumentation, networking components, and fiber optic systems
Produce detailed technical documentation such as ISA data sheets and I/O point lists
Estimate project costs and prepare construction specifications
Conduct field visits and contribute to client workshops and design reviews
Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality and standards compliance
Support specification development for unique instrumentation applications
Manage I&C portions of complex projects and interface regularly with clients
Travel may be required for project meetings and site inspections
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
6-12 years of experience in control system design for industrial or infrastructure projects
Proficiency in process diagrams, specifications, control logic, and panel schematics
Professional Engineer (PE) license
