Junior Transmission Planning Engineer
We're looking for a motivated Junior Transmission Planning Engineer to support projects and analysis activities for high-voltage systems. This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise in a collaborative environment while contributing to meaningful grid reliability and renewable integration projects.
What You'll Do
- Assist in conducting power flow, voltage stability, and short-circuit studies under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Help develop and validate steady-state and dynamic models for transmission system components.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation and planning reports.
- Participate in generator interconnection studies and learn about ISO/RTO planning processes.
- Use industry-standard tools such as PSSE and TARA to perform basic simulations and analyses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data and modeling inputs.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with power system fundamentals and transmission planning concepts.
- Working knowledge of simulation tools like PSSE, TARA, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and willingness to learn from senior team members.
Preferred Experience:
- Industry experience in power systems analysis.
- Basic understanding of renewable energy integration and grid reliability.
- Programming experience in Python or IPLAN is a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO/RTO operations and interconnection processes is beneficial but not required.
