Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) to support surveying and engineering teams in the planning and execution of land development and infrastructure projects. This role offers hands-on experience in both field and office work, with opportunities to grow toward Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with field survey operations, including data collection, measurements, and site reconnaissance
- Support boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Process and analyze survey data using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)
- Prepare plats, maps, legal descriptions, and survey drawings
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and survey crews to ensure accurate project execution
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure data quality and accuracy
- Assist with construction staking and layout as needed
- Support project documentation and ensure compliance with local, state, and client requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
- LSIT certification (or ability to obtain shortly)
- Familiarity with survey principles, GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both in the field and in an office environment
