Mechanical Engineer
Position Summary
As a member of the Mechanical team, this role supports both Operations and Project teams at the Terminal. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment across the terminal.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for mechanical static equipment and piping systems, ensuring operational reliability.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive programs, spare parts planning, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Oversee mechanical aspects of minor engineering projects and asset enhancements, ensuring alignment with safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage contractors and vendors to execute mechanical works safely and efficiently.
- Conduct root cause analyses on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions based on technical assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, inspections, and shutdown events for continuous improvement.
- Support project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination, using the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies on mechanical system shutdowns and statutory inspections.
- Participate in technical reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and RBI studies.
- Take part in emergency response efforts and may be assigned specific roles during such events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Professional accreditation or membership in engineering bodies is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
- Familiarity with local codes, inspection standards, and statutory compliance for mechanical systems.
- Certifications in API, vibration analysis, or related areas are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently or in a team environment.
