About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process mechanical systems across data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, commercial developments, industrial projects, and other technically complex environments throughout Texas.

As project volume continues to grow, they are seeking a Mechanical Safety Manager to support field operations and further strengthen an already established safety culture. This individual will play a critical role in protecting employees, promoting best practices, and ensuring projects are delivered safely while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys being visible in the field, building relationships with operations teams, and driving continuous improvement across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety initiatives across multiple mechanical construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with company, client, and OSHA standards.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field leaders to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and site-specific safety plans.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for internal and client-facing requirements.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to field personnel on safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction safety experience, preferably within mechanical construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical installation activities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or data center projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations, audits, training, and safety program implementation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent safety credentials.
  • Mechanical subcontractor experience.
  • Multi-site or regional safety oversight experience.
  • Experience working on mission-critical, semiconductor, industrial, or data center projects.
