Job Title: Non-Native Invasive Supervisor

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000

Position Overview:

The Non-Native Invasive (NNI) Supervisor is responsible for managing multiple invasive species control crews, ensuring all work meets standards and client expectations. This role requires technical expertise in herbicide application and alternative treatment methods, as well as the ability to develop and implement adaptive management plans. The Supervisor will coordinate closely with Forepersons and report to the Superintendent, maintaining strong client communication to schedule work, report progress, and uphold the company's reputation for quality, professionalism, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple invasive species management crews across various locations.
  • Develop and implement technical treatment plans, narratives, and adaptive management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal leadership regarding schedules, progress, and issues.
  • Conduct QA/QC site visits and ensure work meets specifications and contract documents.
  • Train and mentor crew members in plant identification, treatment methods, and equipment use.
  • Prepare and submit accurate job logs, pesticide application records, and mapping documentation.
  • Manage herbicide and chemical storage in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Order chemicals, safety supplies, and maintain inventory for production needs.
  • Lead safety meetings, inspections, and ensure proper documentation (e.g., Toolbox Talks).
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles, ATVs, sprayers, and GIS equipment.
  • Perform post-completion walk-throughs and ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate Class 3 vehicle with trailer; meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Technical proficiency in herbicide application and alternative treatment methods.
  • Ability to operate ATVs, sprayers, GIS equipment, and small hand tools safely.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage multiple crews and communicate effectively with staff and clients.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift heavy materials, and navigate varied terrain.
  • Licensed Herbicide/Pesticide Applicator (MDA and Virginia certifications in relevant categories).
  • Ability to write adaptive management plans, treatment reports, and maintain pesticide logs.
  • Knowledge of native and non-native plant species in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Willingness to travel, work long hours, and stay overnight at remote job sites.
  • Certifications such as First Aid/CPR, OSHA training, and ability to obtain additional licenses as required.
