Origination Manager
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Origination Manager to join a leading renewable energy company focused on expanding its photovoltaic (PV) project pipeline across Japan. This role is pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and securing new development and investment opportunities in the solar energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate greenfield and acquisition opportunities for PV projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local developers, EPC contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead land acquisition efforts and manage grid connection applications in collaboration with internal teams.
- Conduct financial and risk analysis, due diligence, and sector research to support investment decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout the project development lifecycle.
- Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory and market developments on project feasibility and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the PV or broader renewable energy sector.
- Proven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with landowners, utilities, government agencies (including METI), and other stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of financial modeling, accounting principles, and real estate transactions.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese; business-level proficiency in English preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Environmental Studies).
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel frequently across Japan.
- Valid driver's license (automatic transmission acceptable).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
