About the Role
A highly respected civil engineering consulting firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to lead land development and infrastructure projects across the region. This role is ideal for someone with deep stormwater expertise, strong technical design capabilities, and a proven ability to guide teams and manage client expectations.
The work includes a mix of industrial, commercial, stormwater, and general civil site development projects, with the opportunity to take a pivotal leadership position within a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multidisciplinary project teams, providing direction, mentorship, and technical guidance.
- Manage and deliver complex infrastructure and land development projects from concept through completion.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships while ensuring responsiveness to project needs and expectations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, profitability, and contractual changes.
- Prepare proposals, qualifications packages, and contribute to business development efforts.
- Review engineering designs, reports, studies, and permit submittals for accuracy and quality.
- Develop design concepts, project specifications, schedules, and cost projections.
- Conduct engineering evaluations in alignment with quality standards and best practices.
- Support the development and career growth of assigned staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant civil engineering experience, ideally with local San Diego project experience involving stormwater and land development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Demonstrated experience preparing Drainage Studies, SWQMP, WQTR, and WQMP documents.
- Strong understanding of hydrology, stormwater management, and applicable regulations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California (required).
- Hands-on experience designing and managing site development components including:
- Site preparation
- Paving
- Access roads
- Curbs & gutters
- Guardrails
- Retaining walls
- Striping & signage
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Experience with a variety of industrial, commercial, and stormwater-related projects.
