Overview
We're seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead project teams in creating land development plans for commercial, institutional, public, industrial, and energy clients. This role involves managing a wide range of projects, including retail, residential, higher education, healthcare, industrial capital improvements, renewable energy, and public sector initiatives such as roadway or utility rehabilitation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing engineering plans for entitlement and construction, navigating regulatory approvals, and building lasting client relationships. You'll be involved in every stage of the consulting engineering process- from project management and quality control to client interaction, proposal development, budgeting, and mentoring junior engineers.
As a leader, you'll review critical components of civil plan development, including site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, water quality best management practices, erosion and sediment control, and utilities. You'll also have opportunities to expand your expertise and participate in professional networking and client development events.
Potential sign-on and relocation bonus available.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in the Land Development sector
- BS/MS in Civil Engineering
- Professional registration or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing final engineering plans and specifications
- Proficiency in authoring engineering studies and calculations
- Knowledge of stormwater modeling and related reports
- Experience with permit applications and securing project approvals
- Ability to participate in public meetings (e.g., City Council, stakeholder sessions)
- Proven ability to mentor staff and manage project execution
- Skilled in proposal preparation and client interfacing
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word, HEC-RAS, and other modeling software a plus
- Local connections with developers, architects, or energy clients a plus
