Protection & Control Engineer - REMOTE
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced P&C engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of substation projects. The position is primarily remote and open to candidates across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform design tasks for protection and control systems, including single-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC power distribution, and related documentation.
- Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and integrate SCADA systems.
- Prepare technical specifications and assist with engineering studies.
- Conduct quality reviews and support process improvements to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Assist with field inspections, compliance documentation, and factory acceptance testing.
- Engage in knowledge sharing and mentoring activities as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3-7 years of experience in protection and control design for substations.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NESC, IEEE, ANSI).
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Familiarity with relay configuration software (e.g., SEL AcSELerator, ETAP, SKM, ASPEN) is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- E.I.T. certification preferred; P.E. license is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and client engagements.
