Position Overview
A leading manufacturer of specialty construction materials is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive sales and profit growth for its product line focused on concrete and masonry applications. This role is responsible for managing and expanding business across the East Coast region, building strong relationships with engineers, project managers, quality control professionals, and other key stakeholders in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales and profit targets.
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts within the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain relationships with representatives, distributors, civil and structural engineers, and ready-mix suppliers.
- Focus on targeted product groups and implement direct sales programs at ready-mix suppliers, including equipment installations as needed.
- Generate leads using industry tools such as DODGE, REED, ISQFT, or similar platforms.
- Assist with DOT submittals and Qualified Products Lists (QPLs).
- Provide high-quality customer service and technical support.
- Understand and respond to project requirements and customer inquiries promptly.
- Educate customers on new products and applications.
- Maintain a high volume of customer interactions and visits.
- Attend trade shows, association events, and conferences.
- Participate in technical committees where appropriate.
- Track and manage sales pipeline and lead progression using CRM tools.
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends, and recommend strategic responses.
- Deliver professional presentations to customers and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and uphold company policies and standards.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Promote products to major engineering and architectural firms within the territory.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market shifts, and competitor positioning.
- Provide feedback on new product ideas, pricing strategies, and market opportunities.
- Support field testing and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Background in industrial sales, product support, or technical roles preferred. Experience with mechanical systems and construction documentation is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong technical aptitude and adaptability to evolving technologies.
- Sound judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and construction lead generation tools.
