Controls Engineer
We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in industrial automation, electrical controls, and production equipment who thrives in a technically challenging, fast-moving environment.
The Controls Engineer will support project execution by contributing technical expertise, solving complex automation issues, and working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality control system solutions. The successful candidate will be organized, responsive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on results.
What You'll Bring
- Practical experience in electrical design and the ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and control system drawings in line with NFPA and ISO standards
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft-based business software and engineering tools
- Experience collaborating with customers and project teams while managing timelines, scope limitations, and deadlines
- Ability to perform effectively in demanding project environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to solve technical challenges
- Willingness to travel across North America and internationally up to 20%
Required Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a similar field
- 5+ years of experience with industrial controls platforms in the automation industry, specifically with production equipment
- Experience with machine safety systems, including safety PLCs, safety components, and fail-safe circuit design
- Strong PLC programming experience with Rockwell and Siemens platforms
- HMI experience with Rockwell and Siemens required; Omron and Beckhoff experience preferred
- Industrial robotics programming and teach experience preferred
- Machine vision experience with platforms such as Cognex and Keyence preferred
Location
This position is based in Alpharetta, GA, with travel throughout the North American region as project needs require.
